Realtime Reporting is the latest in high tech developments taking over the courtroom. It allows for a voice recognition software to copy it therefore eliminating typing and many of the errors of Stenography . The student uses the software to copy the words using the software and they then clean and edit in case there were missed words. This allows many students with weaker typing speeds to become successful and enter the Court Reporting world. It makes sense that Realtime Court Reporting would take over the industry but this is not true to date . There are many states that still use Stenography and have no plans for Realtime as of yet, many of these being instituted at the employment level of the state unions so both have tremendous value still
