Maine Court Reporting Schools




There is presently no state certification or licensing requirement to practice court reporting in Maine.  Though there is no certification requirement, the skills to become certified should certainly be the goal for any court reporting student.  Becoming a member of the Maine Court Reporters Association (MeCRA) can make a strong statement that a court reporter is committed to maintaining high standards in the court reporting profession.  The MeCRA encourages court reporters in Maine to obtain national certifications through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA).  Test dates and locations for NCRA examinations are updated regularly on the MeCRA website.
